Interview: Why Powhatan?

Keegan and Joe Dunn talk about why Powhatan could be the ideal place for your new home.

Keegan: Let's talk about why Powhatan, Virginia would be a great place to build your new home. 

Joe: I'm very excited to be out here. This is the Meadow Grove subdivision, and it is absolutely fantastic. Powhatan is a faster growing area of Richmond, and I've been in the business 31 years. But the real benefit about Powhatan is:  typically the lots are bigger, very peaceful, and especially in this subdivision you have 24 lots, but behind most of the lots there is a big conservation easement of about 100 acres behind which no one will build close enough for you to see. So it's just so peaceful. It reminds me of growing up in the country and we grew up on a huge tobacco farm, so I love it here. 

Keegan: The lots are all about 2 to 4 acres or 2 to 5 acres, and with that conservation easement, it's going to feel like you own a lot more than you actually do. 

Joe: Yeah. And that's very unusual in this Richmond MSA market and obviously, most metropolitan markets.  Again, it's very peaceful. The drive out here is peaceful. I know a lot of people up and down this road. They're just good, hardworking country people. So, I’m excited to see what this subdivision’s going to do. And I think it's going to sell out very, very quickly. 

Keegan: Thank you Joe. Another reason that you might want to consider building in Meadow Grove is because you get to select your floor plan, any structural selections, customize design, interior finishes and exterior selections, and we can also build semi- or fully-custom in this neighborhood. 

Joe: Yeah, and this floor plan is fantastic I think this is a Stratford? 

Keegan:  This is this a Stratford

Joe:  And the floor plan is unbelievable. I know they've got another house that's completed across the street. Got one under construction down the street. So anxious to see those floor plans but again, in my experience in Richmond since 2008, Vertical Builders was one of the best builders that I've worked with. Great floor plans, but the quality of craftsmanship is unparalleled. So, excited again to see the other houses and excited for what you're doing here.
